Sometimes, I think where a picture might hang when I take it. I’ll look at something, in this case, a spinach dip, and think that a macro shot of it would be really cool to hang in a kitchen. Most of the time, I’m wrong and the photo just doesn’t work. However, sometimes I hit on one, like I did here. This picture hangs in my kitchen and makes me hungry every time I look at it.
Another in the ‘it might make a cool photo’ category. It seems that I went through a phase when the only lens that was on my camera was a macro one. Truth be told, macro is my favorite kind of photography. I really think that there’s a beautiful, unexplored world right before our eyes.
I chalk this photo up to having way too much time on my hands. I was sitting around bored on a Saturday when I came up with this idea: would it be possible to anchor my camera on a tripod in the back seat of my Mini Cooper? Obviously, the answer is yes. I strapped my tripod down and mounted my camera. I then drove around and fired the shutter using my remote control. The results were pretty cool, including the photo that I call “Warp Speed”.
I found myself in Durham, North Carolina on the grounds of the Sarah P Duke Gardens. If you’re ever in the area, I wholeheartedly recommend visiting. It’s a peaceful place where you can think, reflect, and, of course, take great photos.
Another photo from the Sarah P Duke gardens in Durham, North Carolina. This photo hangs in my home and I find myself staring at it often. I can almost feel the breeze blowing when I see these flowers.
I decided to take a walk through downtown Fort Lauderdale with my camera and only one lens, my 30mm macro. Having only one lens on my forces me to get creative when I see a shot that doesn’t necessarily fit with what the camera can do.
Most of the photos I took on this walk [...]
Another photo from my walk through downtown Fort Lauderdale. Having only my macro lens on me, I was on the hunt for interesting textures. With Fort Lauderdale being the nautical town that it is, I happened upon this rope and thought that it would make a good subject. Luckily, it was cooperative.
Another shot from one of my many trips to Las Vegas. There’s never a lack of things to take pictures of in Sin City. The combination of the ‘over-the-top’ architecture and amazing lighting makes for a photographic playground. Throw in some wet streets for a little reflection and you’ve got the photo you see here.
This is one of those shots that ‘just happens’. I was waiting in line at a clothing store with my friend as he was buying something for his wife. I had my camera handy and just took a quick, off-the-cuff shot. I completely forgot about it until I looked at my shots later and was [...]
Full disclosure: I’m a Mini Cooper owner. I’ve owned two so far in my life and plan on owning another soon. I’m a big fan of the car for their styling and drivability. As such, I have a lot of Mini Cooper accouterments in my home and at my office. This little Mini being one [...]
Up early one day, I grabbed my gear and headed to the beach, Fort Lauderdale Beach, to be exact. There I found a clear day, a rising sun, and this lifeguard stand that was just made for a picture.

This early morning sunrise picture was taken at Fort Lauderdale beach using my ultra-wide angle lens. I love using this lens for broad sky shots, especially in the morning or at dusk, because you get that great, gradient-look for the sky.

Another long exposure shot taken on the Hollywood Blvd bridge. The bridge towers are lit in these rotating colors, which makes for a beautiful sight. Couple that with the weather getting cooler in South Florida and it makes for some great photography.

This is a skyline shot of Las Vegas, taken from atop the MGM Grand Hotel. This sunset shot illustrates the both the beautiful and sinister side of Sin City. I travel to Vegas at least once a year and always find new and interesting things to shoot. Whether it be new or old, Las Vegas [...]
On Fort Lauderdale beach early one morning, I found a few cargo ships out at sea being silhouetted by the rising sun. I couldn’t resist firing off a couple of shots as I felt very fortuitous to be in the right place at the right time.

I don’t often do abstract shots, but this one stood out for me. I was really just messing around last night when I took this picture and it turned out to be an interesting one.
The concentric circles along with the water droplets make for an interesting composition. Does it mean anything? I don’t know. What [...]
Part of my long-exposure series, I biked up Hollywood Blvd to the bridge and waited for the light to get just right. I was able to snatch some really interesting shots of the bridge-tenders tower, along with the traffic that was whizzing by.

Another long-exposure shot taken on the Hollywood Blvd bridge. This one shows the tower lit in purple. On a clear and crisp night light this one, a walk along this bridge and then on the beach can be refreshing.

12 x 16: $29.99

I recently downloaded a desktop picture to my Mac that featured a long exposure shot of cars going down a freeway. This sparked my creative juices to shoot some long-exposure pictures and I did one night from atop my building overlooking John Young Circle in Hollywood, FL. Truth be told, I was a little freaked [...]
The last of my Scottsdale, Arizona photos, this one was taken a little later in the day then the sunrise photos. I was truly amazed at the majesty of the palms there. Even though I live in Florida, I was taken aback by how beautiful and grand they were.
This ‘lookup’ shot tries to illustrate [...]
I found myself in Scottsdale, Arizona and unable to sleep and I’m glad that I couldn’t! There’s several shots in my collection from this morning and it was as truly stunning as it looked. The silhouetted palms against the rising sun make you realize how beautiful nature can be.
This is the final shot of my little long-exposure project. Instead of shooting East, away from the sun, I shot into the sunset which created an amazing gradient effect. Combined with streak of the passing traffic and it created a beautiful photograph (if I do say so myself )
I was visiting two very old friends in Los Angeles and on the day I arrived, they suggested that we hike up Runyon Canyon so that I could see the city at night. I have to say, it was one of the most amazing views I have ever seen! To see the LA lit up [...]
An old friend of mine got married in West End on the island of Grand Bahama. His wedding capped a busy time for me, where I attended eight weddings in eight months! I will say that I am so grateful that this was the last one I went to. It was a welcome break after [...]
Every Sunday during football season, I get together with the same group of guys in the same place, my buddy GJ’s house. For years, I’ve admired the hardware that he has in his guest bathroom and always thought it would make a fantastic picture.
One day I finally decided to bring my camera over to his [...]
The smoldering sky at sunrise over Fort Lauderdale beach was just begging to be shot. The incredible colors made it looked like the sky was literally on fire.

I’m a big dog lover and have a nine-year old Golden Retriever named “Penny”. Unfortunately, Penny is very camera shy and absolutely hates it when I try to take her picture.
This adorable guy was a guest at a pool party that I attended. As you can see, he was definitely not shy at all. He [...]
Another shot from my morning in Scottsdale. The colors in this photo is what really drew me to it. The gradient of the red sky to the yellow horizon is truly amazing.

Similar to my other photo ‘Antique Faucets’, I took this at my friend GJ’s house. He lives in quite a beautiful home that is filled with all types of interesting things to shoot. Truth be told, I think he was a little annoyed that I was roaming around photographing things, but whatever.
This photo was taken [...]
